Part 2: Decision

I’m terrible. The only reason I’ve turned this into saga is because I ran out of time to finish my first post and now, I’ve seemed to stream along some followers (surprisingly there ARE people that read my blog).

Anyway—back to the post.

So the night before we had to make the decision we went to the temple one last time. I was praying for a miracle. Actually—I was just praying that the answer we got from Heavenly Father would be combined and then all of it given to Jimmy. I’d just follow with whatever he chose. SO—we did have a moment where we talked and expressed the feelings we felt. Very special moment; especially when your feelings are confirmed by your best friend. We decided to take the Army scholarship, and say good-bye to UOP. Sniffle.

All it really means is that Jimmy will be commissioned an officer in the US Army, we’ll have no debt, and after he graduates, we’re off to whatever base they assign us (of course we designated Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Southern California as our top choices). HA!

So everything was hunky-dory UNTIL we got home from the temple and Jimmy walked up to our apartment. When he got to the door, I heard a huge gasp and an “Oh my gosh.” I ran up to the door and when I looked in, I ran out, sat on the grass, and just sobbed.

Wait—there is more (whenever I have time to write it). (*sounds* “duhn duhn duhn”). Part 3 coming soon.

He looks like a G.I. Joe!

2nd Lieutenant: US Army

My brothers want to know when we get a granade launcher...

Totally understand! That's pretty much the entire reason TJ joined. However, he plans on making a career out of it all. At least Jimmy doesn't have to do Basic and AIT, like TJ. He'll just have to do OCS. I'm glad you will have tuition all taken care of! Army is a good way to go.

Congratulations!

My brother-in-law did medical school via the Air Force. It worked really well for him. I knew someone else whose husband did dental school via the Navy. He spent two years on an air craft carrier. I'm glad you didn't go that route!

So I am really, really, really behind the times, but I am so excited for you guys! No debt is the way to go! When do you move (or have you already)?
