Yosemite

Fact: I don't like to camp. This statement usually surprises everyone I tell since I love the outdoors, nature, and being active. So, is it that brisk air you smell in the morning while you're cuddled in your sleeping bag that I hate? No. Is it the chatter around the campfire? No. What it is really is that I don't like to be dirty (under my finger nails, in the tent, in my hair), I don't like the effort camp-cooking requires just to get a meal that doesn't even taste that good, and I don't really know how to do it. So--given these attributes, taking a trip to Yosemite seemed daunting.

I've wanted to take a trip to Yosemite ever since we moved here. Given the above information I only semi-looked forward to it. Well this weekend was the perfect Yosemite day trip. 1-a couple in the ward who knows the area and the best hikes invited us. 2- we got to eat normal food like pizza and burgers. 3- We didn't have to camp. In the words of Michael Scott this is a "Win-Win-Win".
Look at that view. Breathtaking!
Jimmy and I at one of the waterfalls
Our last stop before going home
Mirror Lake (hence the amazing reflection)
I threw this picture in here because I was mid-sneeze and you can see Jimmy slightly grimacing.
The whole gang
Half Dome. We didn't climb it and I actually don't have the desire to. But I've heard it's intense and totally amazing!
One of the falls
We saw tons of deer just 15 feet away from us. They definitely weren't scared around humans.
The first water fall we stopped at (I can't remember the name).
This is one of our most fun day trips we've been on. Yosemite is SOOOO GORGEOUS! The air is fresh, the sun was out, it wasn't dirty (the trails were paved for the most part!), and there was wildlife everywhere.

Another Blog

Few more pics

I couldn't resist--Daniel just sent me some more of these pictures he took of us and I just had to post them. If these pictures don't convince you to take a trip to Lake Tahoe--I don't know what will.

Pictures

Here are some of the fun pictures Daniel took of us with his new camera he got for Christmas. He was really good! I'm not sure which editing program he used...but if you need pics taken in Utah--let me know and I'll give him your number!
footsies
Look at that view!
Keeping me warm
J + K
Reminds me of taking engagement pictures
There was icy water beneath us so this was our most fun picture to take by far.
I love Lake Tahoe! If this picture doesn't make you want to go there, I don't know what will! It was very tricky to get to the rocks we're standing on.
The whole Family!
Us in Switzerland. Ok not really, but it sure looks like it!

Family Visit: Lake Tahoe, CA

Me trying a box for the first time since before my mission (I look like I'm going 1 mph) Zach attack getting some air kicking his skis out
Tyler doing a grab
Tyler riding the box
Jimmy trying his first box! Nailed it!
The Best Part:
The best part of snowboarding is these guys! The best part about the cold lift ride is cuddling with your lover. The best part about snowboarding with 6 boys is they make me try things I wouldn't normally do.
The best part about snowboarding with your husband is the foot-massage afterward!
The best part of the Olympics is cramming on one bed all over each other!
I love how gma is waving for the picture but still won't take her eyes off the Olympics! So gma!
Yumm! I can still smell Tahoe!

Daniel's New GF

Daniel's been dating this cutie for a while--and they FINALLY sent me some adorable pictures that I just HAD to post on here. P.S. Her last name is Edwards and she's from CA. Hopefully we're not cousins ;0)

Both of them are really into photography--photo shoot anyone?
This is the first girl Daniel has ever been giddy about. The kinda giddy that when I say her name his eyes glaze over and he smiles and I notice that his mind is up in the clouds probably remembering a goodnight kiss or the first time he held her hand. Cute? Definitely. I've only gotten to meet her once for a few hours but she won over my heart when a Taylor Swift song came on in the car and immediately all four of us (Jimmy and Daniel included) started belting it. She earned some gold stars later when she proved she was crafty and creative, loved volleyball, snowboarding and photography, and of course the fact that she made my brother completely melt.
As the eldest child, the favorite daughter, only sister, the queen, the bully, the princess, and one of Daniel's best friends, of course my opinion matters when it comes to the girls he dates. So to Daniel I say: well done! She fits right in!
Feel free to post all dating advice in the comments section. I'm sure he'd love to be bombarded with it.
